Enterprise.. was surprisingly good =} It was chock full of cliches, and obviously had to have "ominous overtones" of a conspiracy.. but what doesn't now =} I found it oddly.. refreshing.. that they though warp 4.5 was FAST =} Somehow, I thought that was cool. =}

Well, I kept expecting Scott Bakula to make references to his previous "tell tale" role. I mean, most actors do it. When Richard Dean Anderson did Stargate SG-1, they poked fun at "MacGuyver" in it. (It took us 7 supercomputers just to "Macguyver" up a control system for the stargate! was the line, if I recall correctly from the SG1 pilot). In the Andromeda pilot, they have a line about Kevin Sorbo's character "He was just like some.. greek god".. obvious reference to Hercules. I kept looking for any references to Quantum Leap.. you know... any mention of "Al", "Ziggy", or the phrase "Oh boy." Not a single thing. He kept very true to character.

But dammit, I can never respect the Star Trek universe until they introduce transforming mecha! =}

Yes, Enterprise was good. I really enjoyed it. ^^ Though the acting was kinda stiff... especially Mr. Bakula's. But it was the first episode of a long running series, and the pressure to do well must have been insane. All of them should loosen up a little bit in the episodes to come. ^^

But did anyone else just adore the look on Capt. Archer's face when he figured out that they used the transporter on him? ^^

Random thought right now. Last night, on Enterprise, the "phase pistols", which we all know are precursors to "phasers" had two settings. Stun. And Kill.

Don't ALL phasers have only those two settings? NOTHING ELSE?

I mean, sure, on tech specs and on the props, there are little lights representing different power levels.. and die hard trekkies will probably try to prove to me why there are more than 2 power settings.

But think about it.

Has Kirk or Picard ever said "Set phasers to.. energy level 4." Has Janeway ever said "Set phasers to about.. 1/3 between stun and kill, a point off of maim." I mean, I think Sisko ALWAYS has his phasers set on kill. =}

EDIT:
Oh, Skuld of the Norn would have to be my other fav character :)

Mmmm, Enterprise was on last night. A goodly amount of fanservice, though I think the girls may have been cheated. Scott Bakula in underwear? That Tucker guy in underwear?

Though the butterflies were sorta... icky. Made me think of (probably intentionally) Japanese fetish bars.

So who else thought 'Rednecks in space'? I would have liked to see more Chinese and Indian engineers, especially for main engineering. I loved the sweet spot. That was awesome. Oh well, I guess we get stuck with Tucker, for now.

On the other hand, the linguist was awesome! Just the perfect amount of terror and stress upon being confronted with a Klingong for the first time :)
