And yes, my boss.. or more accurately... ex-boss (long story, but basically, I got "strategically rearranged" in the company), used to be EXACTLY like that. He would come in and hover over me while I worked because he gave me ALL HIS work to do =} The project I was working on was his brainchild, so I understood his desire to watch me work.. he wanted to make sure I didn't fark up the project =} Still, I found it unnerving at times =}
He was a cool guy though. =}

Soap box mode again!
Congress is trying now, in the wake of the WTC tragedy, to push measures in which all cryptographic software has backdoors by which the government can access *your* data.
Not that I currently use crypto, though I should. I guess I should start, make a stand. Encrypt my email with PGP or GPG, and force all my friends to do so too? I know it's annoying, but if I find something, I'll let everyone know.
Don't agree to this invasion of privacy, security, and protection! If you need a physical analogy, imagine if the Government, in our interest, made *every* lock work with a set of secret skeleton keys that the Government would 'own'. That's what a backdoor in crypto software would do. The inherent problems: can we trust our own government? Or rather, can we trust the individuals who work and make up our government? How do we make sure people outside our government doesn't steal such backdoor info? How do we prevent determined people from hacking into said backdoors?
Do you see the problem?
