Whee! Back from Comic-con! Too bad I missed Kingsley's video card excitement while I was gone =;.;= Hope everything works, King! As inspired by Comic-con, I decided to do a special comic-con comic. Enjoy true believers! Excelcior! In other news, I got my new camera today! I decided on a Minolta DiMage A2. It's spifferific!

Welcome back Young. Ah, hopefully I can go next year. So my desktop is up and running. Got a new AN7 mobo and slapped on my new graphics card and it worked. So happy. I was also able to transfer my CPU and RAM over to the new mobo. I think I could use a new case though. That biege is pretty dull plus having to take off the entire shell to open the case is a pain in the ass. Plus there no more of that pixel bit fuzzies on the monitor. Everything is clear and sharp. I played some demos and got a good frame rate with the settings bumped pretty high. I don't think I'll be able to run Doom 3 or Half Life 2 though. But this will hold me off for a bit. So my folks and I went out to eat at Fresh Choice today. When we got to the cash register we were charged for two adults and one senior. I was a bit shocked. My father is 62 years old now and I guess now he can get senior discounts at some places. Kinda scary at the same time cause my parents are getting old. My dad is still healthy though. Still working around the house and doing stuff. But still hard to believe that as I grow they grow too. Another thing I saw at Fresh Choice was low carb everything. It kinda took me off guard because I haven't been to Fresh Choice for a while and to see all the low carb shit going on. Kinda pisses me off. About society and advertising and marketing I guess. No offense Jon. I know you'll use your marketing for the good of human kind. But shit, some people are just sheep. Some "certified" person who's an "expert" on something creates or introduces some fad to people and they buy it and it gets out and becomes popular and goes through and gets distorted and then people turn into sheep taking in or following the trend not doing any research or testing or results or any experiement to verify its validity but accepts it on the whim that some "certified expert" says it's good. It's like fuckin' Hollywood and the image of Buddah that got distorted into a fat bald figure. Are people just getting lazy? Do they want someone to think for them? There's gotta be some wolves out there. WTF? Just like low fat foods back in the 80s. Shit people, you wanna lose fuckin' weight, eat less of what you're eating and exercise more. Simple as that. Fuckin' low carb shit! Now carbs are evil along with fat. Shit, I wonder what the next sheeping fad will be. Maybe someone "certified expert" will say water is bad for you. Heh, I'd like to see that. Then all the people who will follow this fad will die of dehydration. That'll leave us less sheep and more wolves in this world.

I'm not sure the low carb thing is actually new. I think I read somewhere that Atkins has actually been around for a couple decades. It's just resurfaced as the latest fad I think. As for Fresh Choice... They actually just declared bankruptcy. They've been closing some down. Customer sales have been way down and it's mostly been attributed to the idea that Fresh Choice does not equal low carb in most peoples mind. So they're now trying to fix that and get people to come back. Low carb may be a fad (or another option or idiocy or whatever), but if restaurants, etc want to survive or make money they have to cater to their customers.
