So I saw Beauty and the Beast on IMAX yesterday.. and thought it was atrociously COOL.
So as a result.. I decided to make a special Sunday parody comic =} Dedicated to Beauty and the Beast... and Yomiko Readman of Read or Die =}
Watching the movie and drawing in Disney's style brought back many memories. I dunno, Disney and Anime definately don't mix.. but I'm not one of those fanatics that'll run around with burning Mickey Mouse toys saying "Burn the Mouse!" or whatever. Disney's artstyle is extraordinarily clean and elegant. It took me an hour to draw Yomiko.. it took me 10 minutes to draw the Beast.
Of course it shows, but still, the Beast was easier to draw. I did some sketches of Belle while I was bored too. She's so cute.. and easy to draw! =}
But I think back.. and I realize, I like Disney movies over anime. True, their stories are a bit lacking.. but... in Disney films.. REAL Disney films, not Miyazaki released Disney films...
There's always a happy ending.
It's not the same in real life.. or in anime. Sad things happen in real life... in anime, people die, characters change. In real life, the good guy doesn't always get the girl, and in anime, the world always ends when the characters start falling in love.
So even if I don't live in an anime world where I get cool super powers and stuff... I think if given an alternative, I wouldn't mind living in a Disney world.
