August 12, 2003 - Tuesday

Finally home from Otakon! I apologize for the lack of comic (I do that a lot, don't I?) but I will get one up Tuesday to make up for it and one on Wednesday and Friday as planned. I had a lot of fun at Otakon, but there were many good things and bad things. First off, I think I'm gonna take down SKR... I haven't had time to write for it lately and it's just sitting there. =/ Oh well.. I'll prolly get back to it later. I must focus on one project at a time and my next project to focus on is Otherworld. Secondly, my bandwidth charges are spiking! Must be both people from Otakon and Megatokyo links causing my site's bandwidth to soar. As of today, I've already gone through 42 gigabytes in less than 12 days! So, if there are any kind readers out there, feel free to buy product from my store or donate money so I can keep my site alive! ^_^ Thirdly, my Otakon report. There's the good and there's the bad. The good is I did extremely well at the dealers room... much better than my previous cons. The bad... well... the art show sucked =/ I registered Friday at 11am... they subsequently lost my paperwork twice and failed to get bidder sheets on my artwork until Saturday at 7pm, giving it less than 5 hours for people to look/bid on it on Saturday, less than 2 on Sunday. I had planned to get a decent amount of money from my artwork in the artshow but barely came out with 1/10th of what I was expecting. I've been told "all the artists there suffered"... small consolation... all the artists deserved better. =/ I don't blame art show though... they were understaffed. All their volunteers were pulled away to do registration by higher ups. I think they need to re-evaluate the importance to "fans" otherwise, they're gonna become another AX and start sucking =\ Luckily for me, I pulled out the clocks I had planned to put into auction at Otakon at 3:30 on Saturday. That means I'll be putting them up on E-bay or something later this week. That means some lucky readers will get my clocks ^_^ Anyway, it's late and I must go to bed~~ It calls for meee... hoka hoka blanket nyo!

Store update nyo! I've changed the prices on shirts so that they're now ~$15 each plus shipping and I now have the option for 2XL and 3XL... but it'll cost +$2/$4 for those sizes since the shirts themselves cost more. Nyo!

Back from Otakon! I suppose I should have posted this up earlier, when I first read it, but I went out to lunch with my folks, chatted with my friends a bit online, and slept in till 7am today. Microsoft RPC worms might be as big as Nimda and Code Red; patch, fix, and removal tools are mentioned. I should be tight, a Linux box, two Macs, and an up to date Windows box at home. Anyway, see ya all later, I'm going to take a nap.

NOT back from ... err... NOT Otakon! ...wait, I never went anywhere. T_T Anyways, I was messing around with a new script on nekobox... that very few people will ever see. :3 *nyuu huu huu* Are you sure all that extra bandwidth wasn't just from me? :P j/k, my scripts only parse text, not dispense files. If that 42 GB was from me, I'd be very impressed! I wouldn't expect it to generate more than 1 MB every 10 days. >.O Heck, I can't seem to download more than 2 GB per day... and that's when I was doing some *very* heavy high-speed downloading. *huu huu huu* |3

Aside from lowering the prices for shirt and adding 2xl and 3xl as possible sizes, I've also lowered and adjusted the prices of the CDs. Since Otakon, I've found a good pricing scheme that seems to work. ^_^ If there's anyone who paid the higher prices and wants the difference back, e-mail me and I'll do it ^_^ On a similar note, later this week, I plan to put up my lami-cards on the site. I realized at Otakon that was something I sold at cons that I hadn't put on my online store yet.
