Don't worry, nothing gross happened.. just wait to see what happens friday =}

In the meantime, go read Otherworld! I'm also planning a third (yes, third. Yes, I'm crazy. How crazy? I dunno, probably less than a used car salesman.) comic. Otherworld will run a chapter every 2 weeks or so, but I'm planning a one panel comic once a week called SKR. Find out more about it later ^_^

Go here. Download and play the demo. A non-3D game, it's essentially a nicely done Archanoid/Breakout clone. It was a lot of fun for me, but then again, i have a light finger trackball, so i could produce a "virtual floor"--great when I had 12 balls on the screen. I have to finish several more demo levels before I might consider buying it because I have a tendency to get bored with simplistic games. o.O However, I did buy their Swarm game a while ago. Controls were a bit awkward, but it was the first nice non-3D game I've seen in a long time--great for my non-3D-(ass-)tastic laptop. I just wish it had larger, prettier weapon-fire. Reminded me of the old-skool Tyrian (with it's cool hidden game), but that wasn't free-roaming, and became repetitious after a while.

Oh, I prolly shouldn't go into my dissatisfaction with 3D FPS games today. I dislike energy weapons. Why? Because of their non-beefy sounds. The *pew pew* sounds are just rediculous. Even the UT2k3 link gun sound just sucks, compared to the bullet-based weapon (#2--I forget the name). Most of the time, I opt for that over the link gun--however makes me end up dying a lot--but at least I get a satisfying cool sound. (...and then I realized the coolness of the the sheild gun... but I won't go into that. and what's the deal replacing the sniper rifle with the lightning gun? ...again, won't go into that...) Anyways, they've got to do a better job with energy weapon sounds. I think Star Trek --not Star Wars-- got it right. The skin-crawling prolonged scorching sound of the phasers convey the right kind of attitude. If it's gonna hurt, it better sound like it hurts. (I discovered "The Fallen" fairly recently... but I do recall that ST movies 2-4 had ear-tearingly loud phaser and transporter sounds. =) ) (Inappropriateness bounds inappropriateness. My apologies for bad judgement yet again in the early morning. Shitsurei shimasu.)
Gawd. *slaps forehead* Yet again, I wrote more than I expected. Rant diarrhea ...is my problem. .. which is what the LJ was for... >.<
