Wow, I think I finally figured it out! Yesterday, I was feeling moody but it seemed odd... almost cyclical. At times, I feel moody about once a month, usually just before a con. It's curious that it's usually around that time I'm the most "productive" until after the con is over, at which point I usually burn out for another month... until I start feeling moody and another con comes up.

I have PMS.

Well, not quite, but pretty close. It's not my hormones that come into play... it's caffine. Let's start with cons.

They come about once a month right now. Usually, I have to get up so early and work so late that I'm exhausted. The only way I survive is lots and lots of soda. Once the con is over, I "crash". I spend about 2 weeks in detox trying to clear the caffine from my system. I tend to get headaches a lot during this time.

After that, I'm moody for a while... and then after that, I'm normal again. I get my speed up on coding and drawing... then BAM! Another con and it repeats.

So what's my solution? Now that I know this is happening, I'm going to try and cut back on soda this time around. I'll probably be very sleepy but hey, if I get back and I continue coding, it's all good. =}

Young needs more fruits and veggies. On a similar note I have gone for four days without soda and junkfood. I haven't gone to 7-11 for my usual slurpee and ho hos. I stopped drinking the soda my folks buy from Costco. I've been eating more fruits everyday. And I think it's working as far as energy. I'm still chubby though. I need to factor in some exercising. The bike is getting dusty and squeaky, just like my drawing table.

Our friend Dom from Megatokyo, has just posted what I consider to be the most entertaining computer component review I have ever read in my life.

You can find it here. Scroll down to the i-duck review. ^^

(PS, the i-duck is waaaaaaaay too damn cute for it's own good. Had I money to waste, it would be mine. Also, notice the anatomically placed USB port. God, I love it, it's too funny. ^_^)

And since we're talking about exercise and health...

I stopped drinking soda regularly about 6 or 8 months ago, when I started my first job at Ewiz, and started doing some back exercises. I slimmed down a bit, which was okay.

Now, since I started at Google, I eat a healthy lunch (pasta, some sort of meat, bread, and fruit; and screw Atkins, it's a bunch of bullshit), I drink about 2-3 liters of water a day, and I jog/walk for about 45 minutes after work. I haven't lost a single pound, but damn, my pants fit gooood. I have leg muscles, and I feel healthy and happy. I have a single chin again! In other words, I haven't lost weight, but I have slimmed down a bit, and I feel better.

Whatever works. And for those of you thinking Atkins is the miracle diet, let me point out to you that cutting an essential dietary substance out of your diet completely is the stupidest thing you can do. And if you're exercising in anyway, it's going to hurt you bad in the end. Carbs are essential for muscle use, and by denying yourself carbs, you deny your muscles what they need to recover from any strenuous exercise you perform. Carbs are *healthy*, and it just comes down to 'everything in moderation', so if you eat a lot, cut back. But if you're not having any at all, eat a slice of bread, for Caviezel's sake.

*steps off the box she didn't realize she was on*

Sorry, go back to your daily duties... ^^
