Started building the Stargate this weekend =} The skeleton is done, for the most part.. just gotta mix and pour the foam. It was way to late yesterday when I finished the skeleton, so I'll do it today before work.

Ahhh... there's nothing like being scared awake by the phone in the morning, and then having Chinese spoken to you before you're really conscious... ^^

My mother called from China this morning to tell me my brother and father had arrived okay. Which is good. But I was dead asleep when the phone rang, and for some reason, when the phone wakes me up, it scares the beejezzus out of me, and it takes me awhile to calm down... ^^

I'm okay now, though... really. ^^ I'm going to go jump around acting class now. ^^

Sigh, more sad news in the States.

Wired reports that the RIAA is attempting the subvert a recent anti terrorism bill otherwise known as the USA Act.

See, the USA Act makes hacking illegal. Rather, it's specifically a bill to punish and deter terrorism, with a clause specifically mentioning "Deterrence and prevention of cyberterrorism."
Which means that when the RIAA, in their attempts to prevent copyright infringement, accidentally delete half your hard drive and cause damage to your information, are actually *terrorists*. At least to the letter of the law. No joke. It seems the bill would make such activities unlawful, and it seems the RIAA, under current law, have the ability to perform a crude variation of search and seizure. Doesn't that count as trespass?

So they want to make sure they *aren't* liable for the damage they cause, and they want to be assured that their corporate police state tactics remain legal.

Sigh. All this is fairly inconsequential stuff, right? No one is being tortured or kidnapped or ruined. It's only money, music, and media, right?
