Well, Turkey Day came and went. I went to visit Nat's folks place for the holiday and A-sama came with us. It was a pleasant relaxing holiday with much foodage. I forgot my toothbrush at home and went to Walgreens to pick one up and found they have these neat vibrating ones that are self enclosed and disposable! My dentist always wanted me to get one of those fancy 200 dollar ones with the $10 replacable heads... but that's too much upkeep for me. To spend 6 dollars on a disposable alternative is quite nice.
And yes, Sean is making beer. I wish I was a drinking kind of man so I could try some and appreciate it. Maybe I should try making my own beer. It'd probably become more of a sweet ale or honey mead or something.

Mead and hard cider is good stuff and actually a bit easier to make than beer (fewer ingredients, at least for the basic versions).
I just bottled yesterday. Two more weeks and I can crack one open to (hopefully) enjoy. Probably the most annoying thing about homebrewing beer... if you mess up, you won't really know it until your done, and being done can take a good month or so. I tasted a bit of it before bottling and it certainly tastes kinda like beer... but we'll see with the finished product. For those curious, it needs to finish and carbonate in the bottles for a couple weeks before it's really done.

I'd actually like to try cider myself. I like me some apple-ly boozeage. ^_^
Seriously though, brewing mead and cider just seem a little more interesting to me than beer. Maybe because I'm more likely to drink cider and mead than I am beer.
Yes. I'm an odd duck.

Well, Sean, I'd have to say X3 is... well, a very mixed bag of sorts. I bought it just about when it came out--which was roughly a month ago. It's a very... complicated piece of work. (I've been bouncing between it and Half-Life Source, because I've been waiting for the 1.3 patch that hasn't come out, yet.)
While the fighting and navigating style is like Wing Commander, that's as far as its simplicity goes. It's not like Freelancer in that it's not that easy to pickup--especially if you need upgrades and money. ...In fact, I'm still trying to figure out how to make money. o_O The manual claims there are tutorials, but it looks like they were removed from the actual game (or the 1.2 patch along with other functionality--I'm not sure).
Don't even consider getting it before they release the 1.3 patch, which hasn't happened--the performance is pretty bad and there are quite a few bugs in it, tho less with the 1.2(.1) patch. Don't get the CD version as there were 2 batches of pressing flaws that I helped them figure out. I wish I knew a DVD version existed since the CD version comes on 6 CDs.
Apparently, there is a lot of help on the forums. It's a very active community, but that forum has its own pitfalls--like no search functions. There seems to be a lot going on with the game that even I can't see on the surface. The system layout seems small from what I've done, but apparently there are over 120+ systems. (Also, unlike Freelancer, it seems as tho the gates are centrally located--rather than peripherally located--within each sector of unknown sizes.)
They say it takes a lot of work to get anything out of this game--which makes me think it might not be for you. To me, it seems like it has the depth of a miniture MMORPG in an SP game with an extremely steep learning curve--except for the maneuvering part. I think I might enjoy it--if I can stick with it long enough. Right now, I just want to figure out how to mine ore. @_@;;; Mining isn't as easy as in EVE, but EVE started to bore me within that trial period.
I still think Independence War 2: Edge of Chaos has done the best job balancing a large universe with an intuitive interface. Freelancer had better interface at the cost of a smaller universe. EVE sacrificed functionality for enormity. X3 is all over the place, but remains to be seen how well it's implemented. ^_^;;;
Other than that, X3's music is REALLY good. :3

Sounds like I'll skip it for now. Plenty of other stuff I want to play.

Waka waka wakka.
Yeah, good idea. Hopefully it'll get the development attention X2 apparently got. But after something gets released, I doubt any drastic improvements will happen.

So apparently it's my turn to get into accidents. Some jackass didn't yield on a turn and hit me. So now I'm short a front bumper. I'm fine, but it's been a pretty shitty week.
I hate stupid drivers....
