August 16, 2004 - Monday

Man. I don't know how webcomic people do it. I was gonna try get something up for Friday but then I couldn't think of anything. Then I got an idea and started cracking on it but then I realized that it was gonna take a while drawing up something. So I said that I was gonna work on it and put it up on Monday but that never happened. For some reason I can't get into comic mode and effieciently fit a comic in four panels. I have an idea of what I want to convey but I can't do it with four panels. I guess part of the reason why is because of my storyboarding background. Doing comics and doing story boards are different I think. Storyboarding is where I'm telling and giving instructions on what's taking place in the scene and how the shot should be. Comics are like storyboards. Ok maybe they are the same and I'm making excuses. But I'm sure as hell glad that I haven't started a webcomic. You really gotta put in and commit. Gotta hand it to those webcomic people. Well, if I do get done with the current filler I'm working on maybe I'll post it in time. Sorry kids. Seems like I can't even walk the walk.

Four panels? Who said you need to do it in four panels? It's just a flat image file (preferably jpg or gif, maybe png, but...) so you can do what you like (as long as it's not so big that people will have problems downloading or viewing it) within reason.

Or was there a different problem I'm not aware of? o_O

We're home! Yay! It's okay King, I didn't expect anything, I was just hoping ^_^ This is a photo of a picture I drew while I was at WWC. On Thursday, we found these... random pieces of foam core posterboard. Sophie, one of Nat's co-workers at Funi, had been drawing all day Friday and it inspired me to draw, since I hadn't done it in such a long time... so I took one of the pieces of foam core board and said "Tomorrow, I'm gonna draw that Full Metal Alchemist poster in ball point pen."

So Saturday came around and I did ^_^

It's 100% ballpoint pen, 4 of them in fact... no pencil, all crosshatched. I'm quite proud of it. We took it home with us in the booth decorations. Some guy came by and saw what I was doing and asked me to draw something for his niece and brought by some nice comic book paper and a deleter pen... so I drew him Eclair and Lumiere in SD. I took photos of those but I'll likely CG those pics and put them up in my gallery sometime. ^_^

And now off to AVP!
