Dead Merle day! Bleah, so busy today! I've slowly been hacking away at my list of things to do before ACen. So much to do! Ah well, if it goes well, I can make a living off my artwork! Yay!
If it doesn't go well... I guess I'll be broke and looking for a job... =/
Anyway, here's what I've been working on, art wise, lately. You can find a bigger version in my gallery.

Okay, I know I posted this before, but I'm serious when I say I want people to come see this show. ^^ So here it is again:
If you guys aren't doing anything this Friday night, or Saturday afternoon, or Saturday evening, and you live in the Santa Cruz area, then may I suggest an evening at the theater?
My directorial debut, "I'd Rather Be Dead" is having it's final performances this weekend at the Louden Nelson Community Center auditorium, Friday at 8pm, and Saturday at 2pm and 8pm. We've had barely any audiences these last two weekends of our run, and it's a funny, amusing, entertaining play.
What really rests on this, is the fact that this theater group might disappear if we don't make get an audience and make a little money. I've been working with these people for over a year now, and I'd hate to see Lupen Entertainment go under. So far our biggest audience has been about 25 people. The theater holds 250. It's kinda depressing, especially for me as the director, so this is why I'm asking you guys if you'd be willing to give the theater a shot, forgo a movie this weekend and see a fun show, if you live in the area. If you live in, oh, Nowhere, North Dakota, by all means, go see that movie. But I'm just asking if some of you will enjoy a play with me. ^^ Is that too much to ask?
For more info, go here.
Thanks for your support guys. ^^

Yo. My cousin sent me this link. He actually sent me the image yesterday, but since it wasn't official, he didn't want to spread it. Now it's official.
Burning oil fields around Baghdad. Stupid idiots don't seem to realize they're just destroying their home. Realize that instead of following a monkey.
With all this wierd protesting going around, it almost seems like people like saddam over bush--maybe they think he's a good guy, but see that there's not much of a lead, tho. But remember, if they realize it, the people can win over saddam.
(Thanks to natsu, who pointed out such a surreal comparison ruler. I sent 60 monkeys to their slaughter before I could finally beat her. ^^;; )
I will not get into this war issue because I don't care, so any comments emailed to me (of a serious or inflammatory nature) will be sent to the spam cruncher.
Anyways, more random words from this cold end of California, Brisk Snowy Town. mmm... taiyaki. Anyways, Freelancer is sweet with their cruise engines and trade lanes. Still doesn't beat Independence War 2 with their LDS drives, detail, and suspension of disbelief; however, it's more fun at the start because you don't have to worry about such detail.
Also, Platinumhugen Ordian is the most relaxing mecha anime I've ever come across. Some people might think of such things as boring, but they can't appreciate the beauty of the cell-based animation style, scenery, and music. That's just very cool to me. =3
Done here. Time for my daily meal. >.<
[Edit--comments at 3:20am the next day:] P1: My cousin works for JPL-NASA, and is directly associated with the group who takes those images. That's *why* he did what I mentioned above.
P5: When I meant "serious" regarding emailed comments, I meant "serious" in a negative, trollish, flaming way--which is why I placed it next to "inflammatory". That might not have been clear.
P7: The "beauty" is what's cool to me, not the people who think those things are boring. However, contrary to what it seems like I'm implying, I don't mind if people think it's boring. Their opinion is their opinion; however, just as I shouldn't project negativity on them for their hastily created opinion, they shouldn't project their negative opinion on others without a sensitivity to what the others might want. I apologize for the disjointedness of this entire post.

Woo Hoo!
Go Kynger!
On a separate note, yes, Freelancer is an addictive, crack type game (with innovative, mouse driven flight sim controls... that work). You can play through the single player real quick if you want but you'll miss some of the cool scenery. =] It's one of those, "Well, I'll just do one more mission before I quit." Or, "Hey, I'll just check out the system on the other side of this jump hole before I go to bed."
Repeat half a dozen times and you can probably see the problem. Or the sheer fun. All depends on your perspective I suppose. =]
I recommended the demo to A-sama and he evidently liked it enough to buy it. Now if we can just get a couple more of the posse possessed with the game we should be able to get some good multiplayer going on and begin our conquest of the Sirius sector.

YES!
SEan is evil! That is why he is red (...never mind the courage/leadership thing--that's Japanese culture. think blood instead). That is why he's the Overwhelming Evil (TM) who even overwhelms "Root". Yes, I'm addicted with trade lanes on the brain. He got me interested and addicted when Mike--our game guy from Neko Machi--couldn't. ^_~ *smirk*
Then again, I noticed SEan posted quite a few hours after I spoke with him last, when he said he'd be off to play the game... I guess he really explored ~a few~ more than one extra system? ^_~ (Yes, I know I know, you were going to do other things, too.)
And yes, I agree. The travelling system is very nice--a drastic improvement over previous WC-based games; although I haven't seen the system jumps, yet. Very addictive, except that the dialogue is gonna drive me MAD! The voice acting is fine, but there's too much gratuitous... words!...without any sane diversification. You'll understand what I mean when you play the demo.
Anyways... YES! Multiplayer! Wanna see! ...and now I bring you a quote directly from the game:
=============== DUDE : > "Hello, can I help you with something?"
TRENT : > "Yah ~got~ somethin' for me?" *raises hand, palm up*
DUDE : > "I don't know you. You're new around here, aren't you?"
TRENT : > "Uuh huuh."
DUDE : > "Hi, I work for *blip* the Overwhelming Evil (TM). We don't run the place, but we have ~an understanding~ with the people who do... *gratuitous hand gesture* *blip* --that we WILL overrun the entire Sirius system, so it won't matter who runs what anymore."
DUDE : > "Well if you ~must~ know, I ~have~ heard a rumor going around that I don't mind spreading even more. Are you interested?"
TRENT : > "Yes, I'm here. Gimme the details."
DUDE : > "Great. This is what I know. Get ready for it. Here it comes."
<box> The only thing people will threaten you with in this game is "handin' you yoh lungs". So if you stash your lungs in your cargo hold or jettison them into the nearest star, you shouldn't have to worry about that threat anymore. </box>
TRENT : > *nods head* "Oh, that's good to know. It could come in useful sometime. Every little bit helps."
DUDE : > "Hey that's great! You won't regret it." ===============
Anyways, SEan is cool. :3
