| Some advice please! |
| I'm too skinny! I'm a grade in 12, 5'5, male, and I'm still barely 125 pounds. I always thought I had fast metabolism since I eat a lot with no weight gain. However, I recently learned that people with fast metabolism are supposed to feel warm. I don't feel warm at all. In fact, I feel cold most of the time. I'm not sure what's up. My friend says it's because I get very little sleep every day while others say that it's probably because I had a lot of milk products when I was younger. Could those be it? I know Im very sleep deprived but would that cause me to not grow as fast? Are there any solutions to cure me from being so skinny? Ive recently upped my dosage of milk products and been weight training for almost two years, but I am still thin.

How big are your parents and blood-relatives? That is a far better metric to judge whether you are too small. Some people are just born into families where most people are short and skinny. If most of the people in your family are large, then I might be more concerned, and it might be worth consulting a doctor.
You should probably get more sleep, though...while it may not necessarily stunt your growth, it isn't healthy for you to go without enough sleep, either.

As for your feeling cold. People with a high metabolism may feel warm to other people...but if you are the one that is warm, you are loosing heat to the outside world, so it can feel colder. Your ability to sense temperature is only relative.
(If you would like to prove it to yourself, get three bowls of water: one hot, one warm, and another cold. Put one hand each in the hot and cold bowls and wait a minute...then put both in the warm bowl. The hot hand will feel the water is cold, but the cold hand will feel the water is hot.)

If you just want to be bigger to be bigger...there's only so much you can do to modify what your Creator / DNA has given you to work with. All in all, if you aren't the "runt" of your family, I'd advise you to get comfortable being who you are. Working out is nice, and it will keep you strong and healthy, but don't expect it to transform you into something else.

Thanks for the advice! :) As for my parents, they're both under 6''...my dad is about 200 pounds and as for my mom, I'm not sure, but she's skinny as well. In comparison with my older brother and my younger brother, it's not so great. My older brother (age 21), although I don't have his specifications is much bigger than I am. My younger brother (age 14) is already to my height and almost to my weight. Maybe I just landed myself some unlucky genes.
As for the temperature stuff, if I am losing heat to the outside world, my skin should feel warmer right? Yet, not only do I feel cold inside, my skin is cold according to others, and I feel that cold weather tends to affect me more than others.
I didn't worry about being small so much until high school. It's not very fun to feel small, especially since this year I graduate in. Then, when strangers make my physical structure a way to poke fun at me, it doesn't help too much either. Its hard to feel comfortable about myself when others arent comfortable with me (maybe I'm just being self-conscious). However, that is life. Anyways, I'm glad that sleep did not really affect my growth, or else I would have really regretted the hours wasted staying up late. I'll try to sleep more now. :)
