Q's for Akagi-sama
Could you give me your view on the apocalypse? I never recall hearing your opinion on that matter. That's pretty unfortunate, since your a pretty insightful character.
Also, could you give me some information on the magi? I'm not a very *biblical* person, so this would be helpful.
Arigatou gozaimasu. Cheers.

What is my view on the apocalypse?

Been there, done that, never got the t-shirt because I was an amorphous blob of goo.

But I digress.... Suffice it to say that the one that I happened to go through, I would not claim to be proud of what I did, so I choose to not speak of it.

As for any religious implications...well, I'm no expert there either. I deal in matters of science.

The magi?

Hmmm...I suppose a quick lesson could be in order. Although the biblical story only references them as a group of maji, or sages, bringing gold, frankincence, and myrrh, even now, it is a matter of debate as to whether it is appropriate to even refer to them as The Three Wise Men.

The canonical story refers to the Maji as three astrologers or kings from "the East" who each brought one of the gifts: Caspar (incense), Melchior (gold), and Balthasar (myrrh).

Unless of course, you are referring to the NERV central computer core....

My mother, decided to design the central system to be composed of three primary processors whom, in a fit of fancy, she named after each of the Magi.

Without going into classified information, she designed them to be a triumvirate to best impliment her concept of emotional computing. Which is not to say that the Magi have "feelings" per se, as I am not refering to an "empathetic computing" which is the focus of much of the linked article. The short-version is that decisions must often be made in the absence of complete information. This is difficult for a computer. Therefore, certain biases and prejudicial decision trees (refered to as emotions) are programmed into the system so that it can "fill in the blanks" in order to come to a less than completely logical conclusion. Now, in order to prevent one set of biases from overwhelming the decision making process, my mother designed three counterbalanced set of biases, or "personalities" who would each work on coming to a conclusion, and a decision could only be reached if at least two of the three Magi were in agreement, and thereby come to the "wisest" decision.
