| Broadband Vs. Dial-Up |
Which is better, a broadband internet connection, or a dial-up one? I'm not very... 'technologically minded', you could say ^_^ I have heard that broadband is faster, but more expensive, and you can only get it in certain areas, I think? *hopes she got that right*

It depends on what service provider you go with. Broadband typically ranges from $30 - $50 a month, but you get 10 times (or more) the speed of dial up. At least idealy. In some areas, where lots of people use Broadband (such as cable and DSL), it might actually be slower than what they advertise, and sometimes you might be transmitting and recieving at speeds of dial up.
Dial Up services are getting cheaper and cheaper. Some companies, such as Core Com, offer dial up internet connections for free as long as you subscribe to their phone service. Their service, however, is often under par.
It all comes down to how much you are willing to spend. Some internet services try to sell their internet service at $20 or so a month, which is absurd because it isn't broadband.
Find out of your area carries broadband. If you're living in the country, it might be unlikely. But in suburbian areas, it is very common. From there, weigh out the prices and see if it's worth spending a little extra per month to get high speed access.
