| Sex |
Is it just me or is the world totally obsessed with sex? Everywhere there is sex related something. Companies sell products using sex, and it seems to be all people want (other then money)
Is it just me or is this totally not right? And can it ever be changed?

Eto... my studies of human cultu... er... I mean when I observe people, I've noticed that sexual intercourse and symbolism is deeply ingrained in your culture because it seems to be a primal urge. Food, sleep, procreation... they all seem to be very... strong... desires in your culture.

I don't think there is anything right or wrong about it. Sex is a very... natural... part of life. I mean, if you find the right person, there's... nothing wrong with it.

I guess it could be changed. It would be odd to see ads catered more towards sleep, food... or even violence. I think I like your ads the way they are... they seem pleasantly... provoking. ^_^

So... there is nothing at all wrong with peoples huge obsession with sex? 0_o

Well, personally, I think when a single person *cough*Keitaro*cough* gets obsessed over perverted things like that... but I dunno, it depends on the person because Keitaro isn't all that bad.

I guess on the flip side, it could be worse, right? I mean, imagine if no one had any interest in it at all... then there'd never be any children or any desire to have relationships.

Is the world totally obsessed with sex?
Depends on your threshold, before "interest" crosses the line into being "obsession." I would say that most cultures in the world are at least, interested in sex. Some may be more than others, but it is somewhat of a subjective judgement.

Is it just you, or is it totally not right?
You are not alone at being alarmed at others interest in sexual relations. It seems a universal lament, both around the world and across the ages, so you are hardly alone.
Whether it is a bad thing, or not, is a matter of debate. Sure, without a sex-drive, the world would not have the population it does, althought that too is a matter of discussion. But when interest turns to obsession and causes people to harm themselves or each other in the attempt to engage in it, or to make themselves more attractive in pursuit of it, then yes, I would argue it has become a bad thing.

Can it ever be changed?
I'm a scientist, not a fortune teller.
To spin the proverbial magic-eight-ball, I would say, "Don't hold your breath." The human sex-drive is an incredibly powerful thing. Merchants have understood that, and harnessed it to their economic gain since before there were lascivious frescoes on the walls of Pompeii.
Sexual mores change from place to place and age to age. So, perhaps it will change to a level such that you would be more comfortable.
While one person, alone is not enough to change a culture, you can choose which culture you will surround yourself with. In your immediate relationships, it is up to you to say what is okay or not.
