loli-con
I overheard my buddy from anime club talking about a 'loli-con'. I was wondering if you guys knew where the loli-con is. It sounds like fun. Is it anything like A-Kon? A-Kon rawks!

Loli-con?

Nyaa~

Loli-con is the japanese way of saying 'LOLita COMplex', and since they don't have the letter 'M', very often, it is replaced with an N.

Ehehehehehehe

Hmmm.. let's see now, it could be a sweets manufacturers' convention... I mean, lolipops and all...

Master Roshi
Then again! It could be a con to steal all the children's lolipops and sweets!

Hmmm...well, for those of you that may not know what a Lolita Complex is, I suppose I should head off that one.

It stems from the novel that was alluded to by Sting in "Don't Stand So Close to Me" as "that (famous) book by Nabokov," Lolita, which is a story about a middle aged man's love/obsession for a 12 year-old, but sexually precocious girl.

So, having a Lolita Complex, typically refers to a mature adult being attracted to someone that is much younger, and more specifically, not sexually mature.

It has become such a cliche in anime and manga to have very young / immature female characters, that the Japanese have adopted the term and as usual, with Japanese acronyms, just the first sylables are used. A case in point, the precocious young captain of a certain *ahem* Space Battleship Nadesico II and her obsessive creator/artist Keiji Goto.

If there is such a convention that has decided to call itself "Loli-Con" it shows a distinctly...odd sense of humor to do so. But then, if Yaoi-Con exists...who knows. Fandom knows no bounds. Enter at your own risk.
