Sir_Aureus R. A. Salvatore Which should I read first? The Dark Elf trilogy or the Icewind Dale trilogy? I'm new to Forgotten Realms, so I don't know where to start ^^; If not either of those, then what should I start with? Otakon Icewind Dale was written first, even though the Dark Elf trilogy occurs earlier in Drizzt's chronology. In the end it probably doesn't matter. Most people read Icewind first just because it was published first, but it might be entertaining and amusing to read Dark Elf first followed by Icewind, since that's the 'correct' chronology.
